The storage and cleaning of your jewellery is very important. Here are some tips and suggestions to ensure maximum enjoyment from your Love Your Rocks jewels.
- We recommend cleaning your jewellery regularly, wipe with a soft non-abrasive cloth after wear.
- Use of a professional silver cloth regularly on the sterling silver components will help prevent tarnishing. Be careful not to use this cloth on the stones or pearls. Jewellery cleaners are not recommended as they may damage some semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls.
- Store your jewellery in the gift box provided or in the organza pouch separate from your other jewellery. With the exception of freshwater pearls it also works well to place it in an air-tight plastic bag, this will help to prevent the silver from tarnishing. Some pieces would also benefit from being stored flat.
- Pearls need the moisture in the air to maintain their lustre so store your pearls in a porous container, the organza pouch would be ideal and will also prevent scratches.
- Wipe your pearls with a damp cloth to maintain and restore their lustre.
- Wear your pearls regularly rather than save them for special occasions. Regular wear will give them the advantage of contact with the natural oils in your skin.
- Try to put your jewellery on after you have sprayed your perfume and it has dried as perfume can alter the colour and lustre of your pearls. Hair products, body lotions, sun block/cream can all cause tarnishing.
- Avoid wearing your jewellery while swimming. Chlorine and salt can seriously damage your jewellery.
We offer a bespoke service to work with you to create your special piece of jewellery incorporating the colours and style you desire. If you know what you want but cannot find it anywhere let’s have a chat, call 07802 507954. I have a lot of different stones and pearls to the ones already featured in my jewellery.
Custom made designs make take longer to produce as I may need to source the materials if I do not already have them in stock. Once I have designed your piece I can email you a photograph to enable you to make any changes before the final completion.
If you see a piece you like and we no longer have the earrings or bracelet to complete the look I may be able to create a new design.
A custom made piece would also make a unique gift for the special person in your life.
